Student Comments
Since most of my student do not have access to after school Internet, and our parish would not open the blog site, my students all typed comments about the blog and activities relating to the technology class. I copied and pasted them onto the blog...
mrs. amy can we do more stories on the computer and show them to other classes?

Will you ask my mom if I can have my own computer so I can do my own photostory thing
Deterion
I had fun with all of them, but my favorite was the map with the pictures we did for the poems.
Brent
it was ok
JAMARIO
some people are scared of funny things Mrs. Amy.
keroscious
Are you still going to put the poems in a book for us?
Donald
Doing this was more fun than working.
DAngelo
As you can tell, my class had mixed reactions to the projects. Although my blog was based on the Poetry unit, we used concept maps, photostory, and some even did a podcast of their poems. I tried to upload pics of them working, but for some reason my blog would not except them. I know this is the last day for our blogs, but I will continue to upload to it and keep trying to put pics on it. I print the new posts for my students to take home to their parents. We include other things in the "class paper" and the parents seem to enjoy it. We are putting our poems into a photostory and it will be played at 5th grade's Honors Day Program!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful break. For thoes of you who have not been to my house yet, Krystal had her baby. She is planning on bringing her to see the class sometime next week. Remember during the holiday, you are supposed to finish your shape poem. We will definitely be posting our poems next week. I am excited about our poetry book! Supplies
Hope your weekend is going well!!! Students, remember to bring your colored pencils and your permission slips on Monday. We will begin our poetry unit. Groups and jobs will be assigned after the introduction to the unit on Monday. Remember the group work procedures we went over on Friday. The groups will have to work together in creating a lesson on a specific type of poem and will present it to the class on Thursday and Friday. In your presentation be sure to have an example of the type of poem you are presenting. We will work on our presentations Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Remember any questions outside of the classroom can be placed on our classroom blog.

Poetry Unit
This is an overview of the poetry unit we will discuss in class. We will be researching and writing different types of poems. Students will be divided into groups and each person assigned a task in the group. There will be a leader, a note taker, an official questioner (this person will direct group question to the teacher) and a finally, a time keeper. We will be assigning groups and jobs in class on Friday. Each student will be responsible for creating EACH type of poem we study. The groups will research an assigned poetry topic and report to the class. The link (click on the title) will be an excellent place for you to begin learning about poems. If you have any questions feel free to post them on the blog, e-mail me, or ask tomorrow in class. Have a great evening!!
